DPA and the Indonesia Services Dialogue Council convened representatives from government, the creative industries, startups, media and the policy community for a roundtable on the evolving intersection of AI and copyright.

The discussion explored how Indonesia’s copyright framework can evolve alongside rapid developments in AI while providing greater clarity and certainty for creators and businesses. Topics included AI training and outputs, ownership and licensing, platform responsibilities, and the practical implications of emerging rules for startups and smaller creative businesses.

Participants emphasised the importance of approaches that protect creators while remaining proportionate, workable and supportive of continued innovation in Indonesia’s growing digital and creative economy.
